“What is a chair if no one’s sitting on it?” is a research study exploring the habit of turning random chairs into makeshift storage units for clothes in one’s bedroom. Analysing this phenomenon from the designer's point of view, to understanding why there's a need for it in modern city apartments, the essay questions the meaning of this unusual symbol. The book includes a photography project that features 4 of Milan's brilliant creatives - Cara Judd, Ginevra Franchi, Viola Sogno, and Bernardo Alves - looking at their relationships with their chairs, and their chaos.
